About: Prof. Dr. İbrahim Halil Diken

Prof. Dr. İbrahim Halil Diken is one of Turkey’s leading experts in special education, with international experience in early childhood intervention.

Dr. Diken began his academic journey with a bachelor’s degree in Classroom Teaching in 1994, completing his master’s degree in Special Education at Abant İzzet Baysal University in 1998. Between 1994-1998, he gained teaching experience in both regular and special education classrooms.

In 1999, with a scholarship from the Turkish Ministry of National Education, Dr. Diken began his doctoral studies in Special Education at Arizona State University, completing his degree in “Early Childhood Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education” in 2004.

During his doctoral studies, Dr. Diken worked for four years at Arizona State University’s Early Childhood Intervention Center with children aged 18-36 months who had developmental delays (Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Delayed Language and Speech, Intellectual Disability) and their families, serving as a research assistant on early childhood intervention projects.

Returning to Turkey in 2004, Dr. Diken continued his academic career at Anadolu University Faculty of Education, Special Education Department, becoming Assistant Professor in 2004, Associate Professor in 2008, and Professor in 2013.

Currently serving as a faculty member at Anadolu University Faculty of Education, Special Education Department, Prof. Dr. Diken also serves as the director of Anadolu University Disability Research Institute. He makes significant contributions to the field through his national and international projects in early childhood intervention, as well as his published books and articles.
