Gökçe Dönmez

While serving as education coordinator at Limon Ağacı Special Education and Rehabilitation Center, she has been actively working in the field of special education for 13 years. Her areas of expertise include early childhood and preschool period special education interventions, educational-developmental assessment, and educator training.

She began her career in 2013 as a teacher for individuals with intellectual disabilities at Afyonkarahisar Special Education Application Center (OÇEM). When leaving the school, she was honored with the “outstanding service award” for her contributions and work.

Later, she continued her career as Education Coordinator at Akarçay Special Education and Rehabilitation Center located in Afyonkarahisar center. During this process, since families are an inseparable part of special education, she provided family education many times.

In 2017, together with photographer Çağrı SELEK, she organized a joint photography exhibition with individuals with Down Syndrome on March 21, World Down Syndrome Awareness Day, carrying out work to create awareness.

After moving to Antalya at the beginning of 2018, she started working as a special education teacher at Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Special Education and Rehabilitation Center in September 2019.

Throughout her professional life, including periods when she took breaks, she also attended many trainings, seminars and conferences, and became certified in various nationally and internationally valid tests.

With the pandemic process intervening, she transferred to Limon Ağacı Special Education and Rehabilitation Center on 15.06.2020 in order to advance better in her career and develop herself. She continues her work here as education coordinator. She has presented many oral and poster presentations at national congresses, and has actively participated in 2 major projects in the past, one of which was an EU Erasmus+ project.
